12/3: Holiday Shoppe at Page Farm and Home Museum, Portage Road from 10-4!  22 local crafters will have items on display and for sale.  This is a free event!

Thanksgiving is getting close!  Support your local food pantry and help those in need!

Men’s Basket ball is playing UMaine Machias 11/15 at 7pm.

Woman’s Ice Hockey is playing Brown 11/17 at 1pm.

At the Collin’s Center this week: Passione is showing 11/17 at 7pm and 11/19 at 1pm you can catch Glass’s Satyagrapha!!! Great shows!

This week in the Orono area there is lots going on!!!

November 9th @ 8pm in the Collins Center Captain America will be there!! You’ve got to check this out!

November 10th @ 10pm is College Night at the Bear Brew and Margaritas!! Bring your college ID and enjoy their specials!

November 11th is Veteran’s Day! Thank a Veteran for their service.

Also on the 11th The National Acrobats of People’s Republic of China will be performing at 8pm at Davilion.  Go to www.umaine.edu/spa for info.

Support your UMaine Black Bears this week!! The football team will be playing Mass on November 12 at home!  Also the women’s Icehockey team is playing Niagara at home the same day!  The Men’s icehockey is playing Mass the same day at 7pm. You don’t want to miss the UMaine Black Bear’s in action!!!!

This week in Orono!

If you’re looking for a place to wear your costume tonight there are options in Orono for you!! There’s a Halloween party at Curva tonight October 31st!! There will be a costume contest with prizes.  Also Fright Night costume party at Bear Brew thrown by Sigma Nu at 10pm must be 21 to attend. 

UMaine football is playing Towson on Nov. 5th!! Go support the Black Bears!!

Also the UMaine singers will be proforming at the Minskey Recital Hall on Nov. 5th 7:30-9:30pm!!!

UMaine Museum of Art Fall Exibits now open!!!! Come check it out!!! Open till December 30th!!

Fun in Orono!

Be sure to catch these home games and support the UMaine Black Bears! The woman’s ice hockey team will be playing Northeastern on Friday Oct. 28th at 2pm.  Followed by the men’s ice hockey team playing Providence at 7pm.  Go Black Bears!!

Also the Collin’s Center for the Arts is showing Mozart’s Don Giovanni on October 29th at 1pm.  This is a great show and everyone should get their tickets now!! Student discounts!!

Halloween is just around the corner! Hope you have your costume all ready!!

This week in Orono

Congratulations to the UMaine Black Bears for winning the Homecoming game this weekend!! The next football game will be Saturday 22nd at Richmond at 3:30pm.  This game will be broadcast on WABI 5. Be sure to watch and support the Black Bears!! Also this week the woman’s soccer team will be playing Stony Brook Oct. 20th 3pm. 

If you are looking for a relaxing movie night, the Union will be showing Cars 2 on October 19th at 8pm and October 21st at 6pm!! Bring some friends and have a movie night!!

Homecoming weekend!

Now that you are all rested from Fall break, it’s time to get back to work!  It’s Homecoming weekend so try to get out and watch the UMaine Black Bears against Rhode Island at 1pm on Saturday October 15th.  Other sports this week are the Field Hockey playing Holy Cross at 12pm, Monday October 10th.  Also the Women’s Ice Hockey team is playing Bemidji St. at 7pm Friday October 14th. 

If you like a good laugh you should get over to the MCA and see NPR Humorist David Sedaris, October 14th at 8pm and Bob Marley will be there October 15th at 8pm.

October is here!

The Southwest Harbor/Tremont Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 16th annual brewfest on Saturday, October 8, 2011. 23 brewers from all over Maine will be on hand for beer tasting, along with a variety of food vendors for a full day of fun. This year we have an expanded beer tent and live bands.Attendees can also enjoy a large craft tent with over 20 Maine crafters. Tickets are $25.00 for full admission that inckudes a souvenir glass and 10 beer tickets. non drinkers can enjoy the food and craft tents for $10.00. Children under 10 are free and Designated Drivers recieve special pricing. (from maineevents.com)
